After two weeks traveling to New York and Boston, I'm back home in time to celebrate Mother's Day. And what a celebration! In this Sunday's New York Times Book Review, my novel was reviewed with other Young Adult books by the amazing author Ibi Zoboi (American Street). I can't tell you how grateful I am that the Margot Sanchez has received such positive love.
Before I flew back I was able to pay the Simon & Schuster office a visit. When I graduated from college, I interned at Rolling Stone magazine, just a couple blocks away from the Simon & Schuster building. I never would have imagined that I would walk through those prestigious doors. Everyone I met, from the sales team to the art department, was so welcoming. We spoke briefly about my new novel set to come out next year. Can't wait to share that young adult book with you!
Next Saturday I'll be at the LitFest Pasadena at Vroman's Bookstore at 11am. Come say hi! And then I'll be reading at the UCLA Writers' Program Publication Party on June 7.
